The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has held its quarterly strategic meeting at the National Headquarters in Abuja, with the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi issuing a stern directive for improved intelligence gathering and inter-agency collaboration to combat national security threats.
The high-level session, which brought together the Corps’ top management—including Deputy Commandants General (DCGs), Assistant Commandants General (ACGs), Zonal Commanders, and State Commandants was designed to evaluate evolving security dynamics and formulate concrete operational strategies.
In his keynote address, Professor Audi underscored that intelligence remains the most effective tool in the Corps’ arsenal. He mandated all formations to prioritize the collection and rapid dissemination of actionable intelligence to stay ahead of criminal elements.
“Collaboration, coordination, and cooperation are absolutely essential if we are to strategically respond to the threats bedeviling Nigeria’s corporate existence,” Professor Audi stated. He further instructed the leadership to strengthen synergy with sister security agencies, emphasizing that a unified front is crucial for maintaining national stability.
The meeting also served as a review of the Corps’ recent operational engagements. The Deputy Commandant General in charge of Technical Services, DCG Zakari Ibrahim Ningi, fdc, who delivered the welcome address, highlighted the importance of the forum.
DCG Ningi praised the Commandant General’s initiative in institutionalizing these quarterly meetings, noting that the consistent exchange of ideas has proven vital in developing workable solutions to the country’s contemporary security challenges.
The gathering concluded with a renewed commitment from the Corps’ leadership to implement the strategic directives aimed at bolstering the safety and security of the nation.
