The European Union (EU) and the Federal Government of Nigeria have announced plans to host the 10th edition of the Nigeria–EU Business Forum in Lagos on June 25, 2026, bringing together top government officials, investors, and business executives to strengthen trade and investment relations.
Over the years, the Forum has grown into a significant platform for promoting economic cooperation between Nigeria and Europe, fostering partnerships that drive business growth and investment opportunities.
The 2026 edition will focus on attracting private sector investment, enhancing value chains, and creating new opportunities for businesses operating within both markets. Activities lined up for the event include high-level policy discussions, business-to-business meetings, and an exhibition featuring investment-ready projects and innovative solutions.
Speaking ahead of the Forum, EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, described the event as a reflection of the enduring partnership between Nigeria and the European Union.
“The Nigeria–EU Business Forum has become a platform where ambition meets execution. This tenth edition underscores our shared commitment to mobilising investment at scale and delivering sustainable economic impact,” Mignot stated.
Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, said the Forum presents a valuable opportunity to attract investments that align with the country’s economic development agenda.
“Nigeria remains committed to creating the conditions for sustainable economic growth and investment. The Forum provides an important platform for engaging with investors and partners, strengthening economic cooperation, and advancing initiatives that support enterprise, competitiveness, and long-term prosperity,” Bagudu said.
Organisers noted that this year’s Forum will build on the achievements of previous editions, with a strong emphasis on facilitating strategic partnerships, expanding investment pipelines, and encouraging dialogue on policy reforms, financing, and innovation.
Abuja Times reports that the event is also expected to reinforce Nigeria’s status as one of Africa’s leading destinations for investment.
