The Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Joshua Musa, has pledged to align his administration with the infrastructure and development agenda championed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, promising to replicate similar progress at the grassroots level.
Musa made the pledge on Thursday during the commissioning of the newly completed Jahi-Gwarimpa Interchange in Abuja, describing the project as a major infrastructure that will enhance connectivity, ease transportation and stimulate economic activities across the FCT.
According to him, the interchange will directly benefit thousands of residents, particularly low- and middle-income earners who depend on the road network for their daily commute and businesses.
“This road is vital and key to the economic life of the FCT. It will save time, boost businesses, and connect numerous communities to the city centre as well as the Kaduna Road corridor,” he said.
The Bwari chairman commended the pace of infrastructural development under Minister Wike, noting that the achievements recorded within two and a half years reflect a strong commitment to improving the welfare of residents.
He described the ongoing transformation of the FCT as an opportunity for Area Council chairmen to accelerate development in their respective communities through collaboration with the FCT Administration.
“Any visionary Area Council chairman should key into this initiative. It is an opportunity on a platter of gold to have a working minister who is committed to development,” Musa stated.
Reaffirming his administration’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the council chairman said Bwari Area Council would leverage ongoing infrastructural investments across the FCT to drive growth and improve the quality of life of residents.
“It is an opportunity to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President so that we can leverage the developmental strides of the FCT Minister and bring that progress into our Area Councils,” he added.
Musa also pledged to prioritise infrastructure and human capital development to position Bwari among the most developed Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory.
The commissioning of the Jahi-Gwarimpa Interchange forms part of the ongoing inauguration of 31 projects being executed across the FCT to commemorate President Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.
