The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced the resolution of the crisis surround 8ing the C2 Maitama Substation, clearing the way for the restoration of electricity supply to Maitama and other affected communities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the electricity distribution company said the breakthrough followed sustained engagements and the intervention of key stakeholders after the substation was affected by an invasion and encroachment that disrupted power supply.
AEDC disclosed that its technical teams had been deployed to the facility and had commenced repairs, reinstatement and restoration of the damaged electricity infrastructure.
The company assured customers that every effort was being made to complete the repairs safely and restore electricity to affected areas in the shortest possible time.
According to the statement, the successful resolution of the dispute was made possible through the swift intervention and leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Minister of Power, Chief Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe.
AEDC expressed appreciation to both ministers, noting that their timely involvement was instrumental in resolving the issues that had hindered access to the substation and delayed restoration work.
The distribution company also thanked residents and businesses impacted by the outage for their patience, understanding and support throughout the period of disruption.
Reaffirming its commitment to quality service delivery, AEDC said it would continue to safeguard critical electricity infrastructure while providing safe, reliable and sustainable power supply to customers across its franchise area.
