The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris (Fnipr), has assured the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON), of the Federal Government’s continued support to advance the Institute’s interests.
The Minister said this while speaking at the Nigeria Print Industry Stakeholders Summit, 2026, tagged, “From Resolution to Renaissance” which held 29th June, 2026 at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
Idris pledged to work with relevant government institutions to advance legitimate initiatives aimed at strengthening professional standards, improving the operating environment and enhancing the contribution of the printing industry to national development.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation (FMINO), to support CIPPON’s efforts to build a stronger, more innovative and globally competitive printing industry.
The Minister, however encouraged practitioners to embrace technological innovation so as to remain relevant in an increasingly digital world.
Describing the printing industry as one with enormous economic value and significant employment potential, Idris emphasized that the Sector would be better positioned to attract government support and policy interventions, when stakeholders are united.
He then urged the leadership of the Institute to carry every stakeholder along irrespective of past disagreements.
Speaking earlier, the President and Chairman, Governing Council of CIPPON, Mr Koko T. Clement, said the Institute had recorded significant progress since the inauguration of the current Governing Council in December, 2025.
He highlighted engagements with key government institutions to strengthen professional standards, improve industry regulation and promote policies that would support the growth of Nigeria’s printing industry.
“Everything we do is for the growth of this Institute, for the benefit of every printer, every packaging professional and every Nigerian who depends on this industry”, Mr Clement concluded.
Abuja Times reports that the Registrar of CIPPON, Mallam Abubakar Ndagi; CEO, KAZ Press Ltd., Mr Ademola Kasumu; CEO, Yaliam Press, Alhaji Yahaya Amfani; CEO, Marvelous MIC, Engr. Michael Akinola; as well as senior officials of the FMINO, and some distinguished stakeholders from the printing and packaging industry were present at the Summit.
