Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Monday inspected key infrastructure projects in Kubwa and Yangoji, expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work ahead of their planned commissioning as part of activities marking President Bola Tinubu’s third year in office.

Speaking after the inspection tour on Monday June 1 , Wike confirmed that the projects, including the Gbazango Road in Kubwa, are ready for inauguration and form part of the projects scheduled for commissioning beginning June 8.

The Minister said the visit was unannounced, allowing him to independently assess the level of work done by contractors.

“We never gave any notice that we were coming here. Truly, we’re happy. The company has done good work with the drainages. You can see that on the street lights, they have finished all the pillars. So, the people are happy, and we are also happy,” he said.

Wike noted that the projects reflect the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s administration, particularly in extending infrastructure development to satellite communities that had long suffered neglect.

According to him, residents of the affected communities are already experiencing the positive impact of government interventions.

“They never believed that they could have this road. They never had any impact on government or governance before. But now, they currently know what government is all about: changing their lives and bringing good things to them. That’s the essence of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he stated.

The Minister said the FCT Administration remains committed to delivering people-oriented projects across the territory, stressing that governance should be measured by its impact on citizens’ lives.

He commended the contractor, Zeberced Limited, for adhering to project specifications and timelines, assuring residents that the administration would sustain the momentum of development across the FCT.

“We will continue to do what makes the people happy. After all, governance is all about improving the lives of people,” Wike added.

The inspection forms part of ongoing efforts by the FCT Administration to ensure that strategic infrastructure projects are completed and ready for commissioning during the anniversary celebrations of the Tinubu administration.
