The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has officially presented Certificate of Return to Bola Oyebamiji, after emerging as the Party’s consensus candidate and its flagbearer for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
Spark News Naija reports that the presentation ceremony, which took place at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Friday, was attended by members of the National Working Committee (NWC), Party officials, and supporters of the candidate.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony on Tuesday, the APC National Chairman, said the Party “minted a brand new candidate” through a rare consensus process in which nine aspirants agreed to field a single flagbearer.
Prof. Yilwatda described the development as evidence of unity and strong internal cohesion within the party.
According to him, Oyebamiji has been issued a certificate of return, officially confirming his status as the APC candidate for the 2026 governorship poll.
He assured that the party would mobilise its full political strength to support the candidate and work “day and night” to secure a convincing victory in Osun State.
“We are ready to stand with Osun people neck to neck, leg to leg, until the day of the election,” the chairman said, adding that the APC aims not just to win but to win “beyond any reasonable doubt.”
Responding to questions from journalists, Oyebamiji expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by the Party leadership and fellow aspirants.
He pledged to run an inclusive campaign that would integrate all stakeholders who participated in the primary process.
“I am honoured today to receive this certificate of return,” he said. “Osun people are ready for APC to take back the mantle of leadership. Governance is serious business, and our state needs a serious manager to harness its human and material assets.”
Reacting to claims by the incumbent governor that he would easily secure re-election, Yabameji dismissed the remarks, insisting he had no real competition and remained confident of victory in 2026.
