By Mary Emeka

As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the Senior Pastor of Pavilion of Worship Assemblies (POWAS), Mpape, Abuja, Apostle Itodje Okiemute Godstime, has called on Nigerians to rise above their differences and embrace unity, peace and collective responsibility for the progress of the nation.

In an Independence Day message, Apostle Itodje urged Nigerians to look beyond ethnic, religious, political and other differences that may divide the country, stressing that Nigeria’s strength lies in the ability of its people to work together toward a common future.

«“Let’s rise above our differences and unite for a better Nigeria. Together, we can achieve greatness.”»

According to the cleric, the celebration of Nigeria’s independence should go beyond ceremonies and festivities, serving as an opportunity for citizens to reflect on their responsibilities toward the nation’s development.

He encouraged Nigerians to promote love, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, integrity and patriotism in their communities, noting that nation-building requires the contribution of every citizen.

Apostle Itodje also called on Nigerians to remain hopeful about the future of the country and to continue contributing positively to society regardless of the challenges confronting the nation.

He emphasized the importance of unity among Nigerians, saying that the country’s diversity should be viewed as a strength and an opportunity for greater collaboration rather than a reason for division.

The Senior Pastor of Pavilion of Worship Assemblies further encouraged citizens to support initiatives that promote peace, development, education, responsible leadership and the well-being of communities.

As Nigeria commemorates 66 years of independence, Apostle Itodje prayed for peace, prosperity, wisdom and progress for the nation and its people.

He concluded his Independence Day message with a call for Nigerians to remain united and committed to building a country that future generations will be proud to inherit.

“Together, we can achieve greatness. Happy Independence Day!”
