The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Mahmoud, has dedicated her Minister of State of the Year Award to residents of the FCT, describing the honour as a reflection of collective service and commitment to national development.
Mahmoud received the award at the 6th Edition of the Accolade Yellow Ball and Awards held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
Speaking during the event, the minister expressed appreciation for the recognition, noting that the award symbolises the dedication and hard work of the entire Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) under the leadership of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
She stated that the recognition would motivate her to continue contributing to the growth and transformation of the nation’s capital in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to Mahmoud, leadership is fundamentally about service, compassion, commitment, and creating opportunities that positively impact citizens.
The minister dedicated the award to the resilient people of the FCT, particularly women, youths, and community leaders whose support and cooperation, she said, have strengthened the administration’s resolve to deliver impactful governance.
She added that the confidence reposed in the administration continues to inspire its policies and developmental initiatives.
Mahmoud also commended the organisers of the Accolade Yellow Ball and Awards for sustaining a platform that promotes excellence, integrity, innovation, and outstanding public service.
She stressed that recognising hard work and dedication remains essential to fostering accountability and national progress.
The minister further urged Nigerians to remain united and committed to peace, nation-building, and sustainable development as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.
She expressed optimism that through patriotism and collective effort, Abuja and Nigeria would continue to grow into places future generations would be proud of.
