Jubilation Galore in Taraba Central as Senator Manu Wins APC Senate Return Ticket

There was widespread jubilation across Taraba Central Senatorial District on Tuesday as Senator Manu Haruna emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for the district ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Senator Haruna, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Taraba State, was declared unopposed following the conduct of the party’s primary election on Monday across the five local government areas that make up the senatorial district.

Announcing the results at Bali Local Government Area on Tuesday, the returning officer, Engineer Hamza Faruk, confirmed that the exercise was peaceful and conducted in line with APC guidelines as well as provisions of the Electoral Act.

According to the results announced, Senator Haruna secured a total of 59,009 votes across the district.

The breakdown of the votes showed that Sardauna Local Government Area recorded 13,256 votes, Bali LGA delivered 9,904 votes, Kurmi LGA produced 6,112 votes, while Gassol LGA gave the highest tally with 21,325 votes. Gashaka LGA recorded 8,412 votes.

Faruk thereafter declared Senator Haruna as the duly elected APC senatorial candidate for Taraba Central Senatorial District.

Party supporters and residents across the district were seen celebrating the outcome, describing the victory as a reflection of confidence in the former deputy governor’s leadership and political influence within the zone.
