Declaring the workshop opened in on Thursday, the APC’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda said the E-Membership Registration Programme is one of the most transformative initiatives in the history of the party.

Prof. Yilwatda, represented by the National Vice Chairman, North Central, Hon. Muazu Bawa stated that the workshop is designed to ensure that the state chairmen fully understand and take ownership of the E-Membership Registration Programme in the various states.

“It comes after a successful series of training sessions conducted across six local political zones. Today’s session focuses on empowering our state chairmen to provide strategic leadership and oversight as the programme is implemented,” he added.

Earlier in his welcome address, the APC National Organising Secretary, Muhammad Sulaiman Argungu said the workshop marks a crucial step in the party’s ongoing efforts to reposition the APC as a modern, digitally driven, and people-centered political party.

“Our objective is to build an efficient, transparent, and inclusive membership system that reflects the true strength and reach of our great party across Nigeria.),” Argungu said.

Continuing, he added, “This workshop is designed to provide our States Party Chairmen with a comprehensive and practical understanding of the APC E-Membership Registration process.

“As you are aware, this session follows a series of workshops successfully conducted across the six geopolitical zones, where State Organizing Secretaries and three representatives from each senatorial zone participated.

“Those sessions focused on the operational aspects of the e-registration system as well as top-down training

“Today’s programme, however, is meant to ensure that our state chairmen, the custodians of party structures at the state level, fully understand both the technical framework and strategic importance of this initiative.”

According to the National Organizing Secretary, through this initiative, APC will build a credible and verifiable digital database of its members nationwide

“Improve transparency and accountability in party management; Enhance communication and coordination between the National Secretariat and the grassroots; Provide a reliable tool for congresses, primaries, and election planning; and strengthen our mobilization base ahead of the 2027 general elections”.

He stated that the role of the State Chairmen in the success of the programme is pivotal, saying they are to provide leadership and supervision throughout the e-registration process, ensure that others are properly trained and supported, among others.

“Our distinguished state chairmen, I urge you to participate fully. The lessons and insights you gain here will determine the success of this exercise in your respective states,” he advised.

The chairman of the Forum of APC State Chairmen, who doubles as the Lagos State APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, assured the party of their full support and commitment to the success of the exercise.
