The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Social Development Secretariat (SDS) recently celebrated the 2025 SERVICOM Customer Service Week in Abuja, with the Mandate Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Aminu, urging staff to deepen their commitment to providing exceptional service to the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
Represented by Permanent Secretary Olubunmi Olowookere, Aminu emphasized the importance of recognizing and rewarding employees whose outstanding contributions have significantly improved the Secretariat’s mandate and vision, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Mandate Secretary noted that the celebration is a call to action for staff to innovate, digitalize, and humanize service delivery, stressing that the theme “Mission Possible” challenges workers to move beyond excuses and embrace a mindset of possibilities.
He added that in the public sector, customer service translates to citizen satisfaction, noting that every file processed, every person attended to, and every welfare service delivered defines the government’s image.
The Mandate Secretary further urged staff to perform their duties with transparency, competence, dignity, patience, and excellence, while encouraging customers to continue patronizing the Secretariat. Earlier, Head of SERVICOM Unit, SDS, Hafsat Mahmud Mazila, highlighted the importance of celebrating staff to boost morale and encourage hard work, calling for continuous feedback from staff and customers to re-evaluate and adjust processes.
Mrs. Lucy Zack Ukoh from the National SERVICOM Office, in her goodwill message, emphasized the need to celebrate frontline staff who sacrifice to bring services to the people, noting that the theme reflects the administration’s commitment to honoring hard work and dedication.
Representative of the Permanent Secretary, Treasury & Budget, Dr. Idris Arris, also noted that celebrating those who consistently go above and beyond fosters a culture of recognition and appreciation, motivating others to strive for excellence.
The event featured the presentation of awards to deserving staff, including the Award of Excellence to Mandate Secretary Hon. Ibrahim Aminu, Award of Innovation and Creativity to Permanent Secretary Olubunmi Olowookere, and Award for Effective Service Delivery to Head of Media/Public Relations Shaka Sunday, Head CPO Ashafa Hassan, and Head of HIV Unit Dr. Okoro Chinemerem, among others.
