Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado, expressed his happiness with the smooth screening and confirmation process.
Senator Lado stated that the appointments represent a strategic step towards strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture and fostering synergy among the Armed Forces.
He appreciated the President of the Senate, Senate Leadership, and Distinguished Senators for their prompt consideration and confirmation of the new Service Chiefs.
The confirmed appointees include Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff, Major Gen. Waidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, AVM Sunday K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral Idi Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff.
The presidency sees this as a strong collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature in advancing national interest and ensuring security and stability.
