Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Osun State Governorship Election, Governor Hope Uzodinma, has urged members of the campaign council to remain focused on delivering victory for the party in the forthcoming governorship poll.
Speaking on Monday during the inaugural meeting of the campaign council at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, Uzodinma said the committee had been constituted solely to work for the success of the APC in Osun, stressing that the meeting was not for celebration but for service.
He charged members to support the party and mobilise efforts towards ensuring victory in the election.
“This meeting is not for merry-making. It is not for any jamboree. It is for people to come and offer service,” he said.
Uzodinma directed all sub-committees of the campaign council to convene meetings before Thursday and submit practical proposals that would strengthen the party’s campaign.
He instructed the chairmen of the various sub-committees to forward their resolutions and recommendations to the committee’s national secretary, including areas where the Central Working Committee could provide support.
“You have only one mission—to win the election. Everything else can come after the election,” he said.
The Imo State governor also tasked the finance sub-committee with mobilising contributions from party members and other supporters willing to support the APC’s governorship campaign in Osun State.
According to him, there was no need for members to introduce themselves, noting that the party had already published the names of those appointed into the campaign council.
Uzodinma, however, invited members to raise observations or seek clarifications where necessary before the meeting concluded.
The APC National Campaign Council was inaugurated to coordinate the party’s strategy and mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
