The Honeywell Group has lauded the ongoing reforms being implemented by the Federal Ministry of Interior, describing them as significant steps toward improving service delivery, strengthening national security, and enhancing public confidence in government institutions.
The commendation came during a courtesy visit by senior executives of the Honeywell Group to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in Abuja on Thursday, where both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in support of Nigeria’s development agenda.
Speaking during the meeting, Tunji-Ojo reiterated the Federal Government’s readiness to partner with responsible corporate organizations to drive economic growth and national development.
He praised Honeywell Group for its longstanding contributions to the nation’s economy and acknowledged the vital role of the private sector in promoting job creation, innovation, and sustainable development.
According to the minister, the reforms being implemented across the ministry and its agencies are aimed at building efficient, transparent, and technology-driven institutions capable of meeting the expectations of a modern Nigeria.
“Our goal is to build institutions that work efficiently for the people. We are committed to creating systems that are transparent, technology-driven, and capable of delivering services in a manner that reflects the aspirations of a modern Nigeria,” he said.
Tunji-Ojo emphasized that sustainable development requires stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors, noting that government efforts alone are insufficient to achieve national prosperity.
“The government cannot achieve sustainable development alone. Strong partnerships between the public and private sectors are essential to building a prosperous nation. We value organizations such as Honeywell Group that have consistently invested in Nigeria and contributed to the country’s growth over several decades,” he added.
Earlier, Senior Adviser to Honeywell Group, Oduwaye Nsidi-Sakiri, commended the ministry’s reform initiatives, describing the achievements recorded so far as evidence of effective leadership and institutional commitment.
She said the visit underscored the company’s tradition of maintaining constructive relationships with government institutions and regulatory agencies, while expressing its willingness to explore areas of collaboration that align with government policies and national development objectives.
Also speaking, Honeywell Group Chief Operating Officer, Tomi Ayo-Tugbo, praised the ministry for reforms that are delivering tangible benefits to Nigerians and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the nation’s economic growth and prosperity.
The meeting concluded with both the ministry and Honeywell Group highlighting the importance of public-private sector cooperation in strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and accelerating Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
