The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives extends its warmest felicitations to the Muslim Ummah across Nigeria and the world on the auspicious occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.
This was contained in a goodwill message to the Muslims jointly signed by the caucus leaders, Rep Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, Leader, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Isa J.C.Minority Whip, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madak iDeputy Minority Leader, Rt. Hon. George Ozodinobi ,Deputy Minority Whip stating that:
“This sacred milestone, marking the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, is a period of profound spiritual significance and a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and devotion.
“We warmly commend the faithful for their unwavering commitment throughout the month-long fast, a fundamental pillar of Islam.
“Beyond the physical discipline, we recognise the deep spiritual labour involved in offering prayers for spiritual growth and heartfelt supplications for the peace, unity, security, and prosperity of our dear nation.
“As faithful moves from the fast to the festivities, the Caucus urges all Nigerians to internalise and sustain the life-changing virtues cultivated during this holy period.
“These reflections offer both spiritual and transformative framework for both personal growth and national development, shifting the focus from temporary ritual to enduring character.
“Ramadan serves as a rigorous school for the will, where the believer learns to master physical impulses for higher spiritual purposes.
“By voluntarily abstaining from basic necessities from dawn until sunset, one develops a profound sense of self-discipline that translates into a greater capacity for leadership and citizenship.
“It encourages us all to prioritise collective progress and long-term national stability over immediate personal gratification.
“Central to the Ramadan experience is the cultivation of authentic empathy through the physical reality of hunger.
“This experience is designed to bridge the social and economic gaps between the privileged and the underserved, fostering a deep compassion for those who face such hardships daily.
“This heightened awareness naturally fuels the spirit of Zakat and Sadaqah, reminding every Nigerian that our resources are a trust intended to uplift the vulnerable.
“By turning this empathy into consistent charity, we ensure that social justice becomes a permanent feature of our national fabric rather than a seasonal gesture.
“Furthermore, the fast encourages a profound purity of intent, as true devotion extends far beyond the stomach to the heart and the mind, requiring a conscious effort to turn away from falsehood, anger, and malice.
“Ultimately, the communal nature of the month, marked by breaking bread together at Iftar and standing in unified prayer, serves as a powerful catalyst for national cohesion.
“These shared moments break down ethnic, tribal, and social barriers, reminding us that we are one people bound by common aspirations.
“While we celebrate, the Caucus remains deeply mindful of the prevailing hardships across the country.
“We use this sacred season to call upon the Federal Government to look beyond conventional methods and evolve truly ingenious, people-centered strategies to tackle our multi-sectoral challenges.
“It is time for the immediate initiation of policies that move beyond rhetoric to practically ameliorate the daily sufferings of Nigerians.
“We are confident that Almighty Allah (SWT) has accepted the prayers, fasting, and acts of Ibadah performed by the Muslim Ummah.
