Wike: Completed FCT Projects Will Speak for Tinubu in 2027

By Matthew Okon

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said the completion of major infrastructure projects in Abuja will demonstrate the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike stated this on Thursday while inspecting the ongoing Apo-Karshi and Bwari-Kubwa road projects in the FCT.

He said the administration had changed the pace of infrastructure delivery in the nation’s capital by reviving projects abandoned by previous administrations and ensuring that contractors meet agreed completion timelines.

According to him, the Apo-Karshi Road, which was initially awarded in 2010, was among projects whose contracts were revoked and re-awarded to new contractors to facilitate completion.

Wike said the visible execution of projects across the Federal Capital City and satellite towns was more significant than political promises, adding that residents could assess the government based on infrastructure delivered in their communities.

He also pointed to the response of residents during his project inspection tours, saying their reactions demonstrated appreciation for projects addressing their everyday needs.

The Minister said contractors handling the projects had committed to completing critical sections between November and December.

He expressed confidence that the administration’s infrastructure programme in the FCT would translate into electoral support for President Tinubu and the ruling party.
