The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has dismissed allegations circulating on social media, insisting that his record in public service speaks for itself.
Umahi addressed the claims on Saturday during an inspection tour of major infrastructure projects in the South East, where he rejected accusations made online by an individual identified as TracyNither Ohiri.

The minister maintained that throughout his years in public office, he had upheld integrity and accountability.
He recalled serving as party chairman, deputy governor and governor for eight years, noting that no allegations of harassment or indebtedness were raised against him during those periods.
“I owe nobody,” he said, adding that his tenure in executive positions was marked by significant infrastructure development.
Reacting to the social media reports, Umahi said he was unperturbed by the controversy, describing it as part of the terrain of public life.
“What you read on social media, I’m not worried about it. It makes me stronger. I’ve fought many battles, so this is nothing,” he said.
In a lighter moment, the minister used humour to dismiss the claims, suggesting they were designed to generate online attention. However, he stressed that the allegations would not distract him from his duties.
Umahi reaffirmed his commitment to focusing on his responsibilities as Minister of Works, particularly the delivery of key infrastructure projects across the country.
