Sallah: FCT Fire Service Ready For Emergencies

The Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, has assured residents of the Federal Capital Territory of the agency’s readiness to respond swiftly to emergencies during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Speaking during a post-festive briefing with station commanders, the controller directed all units to remain fully operational and strategically positioned across the territory to handle any emergencies that may arise.

This was contained in a statement on Thursday, 19th March, 2026, by SF Anyam Barnabas, Public Relations Officer to the
Federal Fire Service, FCT Command.

He also ordered that all firefighting equipment, including trucks, be maintained in optimal condition throughout the period.

Anas emphasised that the fire service provides essential services and does not observe holidays, stressing the importance of constant preparedness.

He urged residents to be safety-conscious, noting that fire incidents tend to increase during festive periods due to heightened domestic and social activities.

He advised households to switch off electrical appliances when not in use, avoid leaving cooking unattended, and refrain from the use of fireworks.

The controller further encouraged residents to keep emergency contact numbers readily available and promptly report any fire outbreak or related incidents.

He also extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan, wishing them a peaceful and safe celebration.
