
Renowned Nigerian evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, has passed away at the age of 80.
He died on October 6, 2025, after dedicating over six decades of his life to fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching of the Word, and prophetic demonstrations of the power of God.
The family, in a statement titled “Glorious Transition,” described him as “a faithful soldier of the cross” who impacted millions of lives and transformed destinies within Nigeria and beyond.
They celebrated his life, noting that while they mourn his physical absence, they rejoice that he has finished his race and is now resting in eternal praise.
Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai was a spiritual leader known for his evangelism, mentorship, and commitment to faith, forgiveness, and national unity. He founded the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, a non-denominational Christian organization focused on spreading the gospel through massive outreach programs, healing campaigns, and leadership training.
He also established the Uma Ukpai College of Theology and Management Studies and the Uma Ukpai Eye Centre, reflecting his belief in practical faith and compassion. His legacy continues to inspire believers, and his impact on Nigeria’s Pentecostal movement will be remembered for generations.
