Federal Fire Service Commands in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), namely, Kubwa Abuja Metropolitan Station and the Wuse Command, on Thursday 2nd October, 2025 played host to the Controller General of Fire Service, Olumode Adeyemi Samuel.
A statement on the same day by DCF P.O. Abraham, National PRO/Head, Corporate Services, said the CGF, alongside the Management Team of the Service were on a working visit to the Commands with the aims of identifying gaps and strengthening operational capacity.
Addressing the officers and men of the Commands, Adeyemi Samuel noted that the welfare of the firemen remained his topmost priority, saying they are at the heart of the Service’s mandate of saving lives and property.
He assured them of comprehensive insurance coverage as well as awards and recognitions for outstanding performance.
The Fire Service boss further assured the firemen of a conducive working environment, and access to loans to meet pressing needs.
Warning them against job racketeering, Adeyemi Samuel charged the firemen with discipline, stressing that anyone found culpable would face disciplinary action.
Abuja Times recalls that the last major fire incident in FCT was in March 2025, following an explosion which resulted from an accident involving a trailer that lost control and crashed into vehicles at the Karu Bridge.
