The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Education Resource Centre (ERC), in collaboration with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) FCT Zonal Office, has initiated an intensive sensitization campaign to prepare stakeholders for the transition from traditional paper-and-pen WAEC examinations to Computer-Based Testing (CBT).

Director of ERC, Dr. Neemat Daud Abdulrahim, emphasized the Centre’s commitment to implementing government academic policies, including the new curriculum. She urged school managers to participate in the implementation process, highlighting the FCT Education Secretariat’s long-standing promotion of entrepreneurship and skills acquisition.

WAEC’s Senior Deputy Registrar and FCT Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Kelezo Ambrose, explained that the briefing aimed to familiarize principals and examination officers with the technical requirements of the CBT process. WAEC has developed a feedback mechanism to address concerns and will leverage existing CBT centres for seamless implementation.

The transition aims to enhance examination efficiency and credibility. Participants expressed readiness to support the CBT transition, emphasizing the need for continuous training and capacity building.
