The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has underscored the critical role of youths in sustaining the strength and electoral success of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing their energy and mobilisation capacity as central to the party’s momentum.

Dr. Mahmoud made the remark while addressing APC youth leaders from the North-West Zone at the “Meet and Greet” for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, held at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the African Continental Hotel, Abuja.

She praised the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and the APC youth leadership for convening the event, noting that it provided an important platform for reinforcing unity, participation and commitment within the party. The Minister commended the youths for their loyalty and support for the APC leadership, as well as for their steadfast backing of the Tinubu–Shettima administration.

According to her, the ideas, innovation and organisational strength of young party members have continued to drive the APC’s successes and help sustain democratic values across the country. She encouraged youth leaders to embrace issue-based politics, peaceful mobilisation and constructive engagement in advancing the party’s ideals.

Dr. Mahmoud also highlighted the strategic importance of the North-West Zone in Nigeria’s political history and the APC’s electoral victories, expressing optimism that sustained youth involvement would further consolidate the party’s achievements.

Also speaking, the Minister of State for Works, Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who served as Director of the 2023 Youth Mobilisation for the North-West, said the gathering was organised to recognise the efforts of youth leaders who contributed significantly to the APC’s 2023 election victory.

He explained that the engagement was aimed at reinvigorating young party members and strengthening their support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s administration. Hon. Goronyo urged the youths to remain active and committed, noting that their continued participation would inspire broader youth support for the delivery of the administration’s campaign promises to the North-West and the nation.

The event featured the presentation of merit awards to outstanding APC youth leaders from the zone, marking the high point of the gathering and reinforcing the party’s appreciation of youth contributions.
