The Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, has commenced distribution of relief materials to constituents, through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The items, according to a press release from Emenike Egwusunwa, the SA Media to the Lawmaker, the food items, include rice, garri, spaghetti, tomatoes, and seasoning cubes, a move aimed at bringing succour to the less privileged in the Constituency.
The distribution which coincides with the holy month of Ramadan and Lenten periods, was described by Hon. Obika as a time for sober reflection and spiritual renewal.
He expressed gratitude to NEMA for its timely intervention and emphasized the importance of collaborative governance.
Hon. Obika called for a stronger partnership between his office, federal agencies, and community stakeholders to address long-term needs.
“This intervention is appreciated, but we must look beyond immediate relief,” he stated, advocating for infrastructure rebuilding, particularly schools.
The Lawmaker reiterated his commitment to facilitating emergency support and long-term projects addressing vulnerability in the Federal Capital Territory.
He emphasized education as the foundation of the future, stressing the need for safe learning environments.
