
A total of 24 teams – four from each area council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will battle for ₦2 million cash prize and other valuable rewards, in the Montage FM 99.7 community football competition.
The tournament, to be played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja is themed “Montage FM 99.7: Empowering Youth, Uniting Communities Through Football,”
The tournament which will kick off on November 18, 2025, with playoffs scheduled in all six Area Councils of the FCT is expected to end on December 7th, 2025.
Abuja Times reports that Montage FM 99.7 community football tournament aimed at fostering unity, encouraging physical fitness, and discovering raw talent across the FCT.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the tournament coordinator Mr. Raphael Ekpang said the tournament is an initiative that will drive unity and youth engagement.
“I am honored to announce the upcoming Montage FCT Community Football Tournament – a dynamic grassroots inter‑community football competition that promises to unite communities and discover hidden talent across the six Area Councils in the FCT,” Ekpang said.
He added that the tournament is more than just football; it celebrates community spirit and youth empowerment, with plans to later expand into basketball and athletics.
Registration and awareness campaigns are currently underway, and Ekpang urged interested teams and individuals to take part. He thanked sponsors and partners for sharing the vision, while inviting more organizations and individuals to join the cause.
The organizers emphasized that the tournament aligns with Montage FM 99.7’s mission to promote peace, unity, and positive youth engagement, reinforcing its brand as a youth‑driven, community‑focused platform.
