The Federal Government has signed landmark contract agreements with four construction firms for the execution of major road projects across the country as part of efforts to deepen infrastructure development under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The contract signing ceremony, held Thursday at the Federal Ministry of Works headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja, signals another major step in the government’s drive to deliver durable and sustainable road infrastructure aimed at boosting connectivity, stimulating economic growth and improving the quality of life of Nigerians.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, described the projects as strategic national infrastructure designed to improve transportation efficiency, strengthen national integration and expand economic opportunities across the country.
Umahi said the reconstruction of the Mando–Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State was particularly significant, noting that it was one of the key infrastructure commitments made by President Tinubu during the 2022/2023 election campaigns.
He reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to deliver world-class infrastructure capable of serving Nigerians for generations through the adoption of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement technology.
“Our vision is to build roads that will last for generations. Under the Renewed Hope administration, we are determined to deliver infrastructure that can serve Nigerians for up to 100 years through rigid pavement technology,” Umahi said.
The minister commended the selected contractors for their proven competence and track records, expressing confidence in the capacity of indigenous firms to execute complex national projects.
He particularly praised firms such as JRB Construction Company Limited and Truecrete Solutions Limited for their performance on previous projects and directed all contractors to mobilise to site immediately.
The projects awarded include the reconstruction of the 122-kilometre Mando–Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State by J. Patel and Sons Nigeria Limited at a cost of ₦178.1 billion.
The dualisation of the 114.5-kilometre Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road spanning Oyo State and Ogun State was awarded to JRB Construction Company Limited for ₦295.9 billion.
The 70-kilometre Osogbo–Ikirun–Akoda Road in Osun State was awarded to Truecrete Solutions Limited at ₦101.8 billion, while the 73-kilometre Osogbo–Iwo–Ibadan Road linking Osun and Oyo states was awarded to Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited for ₦114.8 billion.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Rafiu Olarinre Adeladan, described the signing as the completion of the procurement process and the formal commencement of project implementation.
He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strict monitoring, quality assurance and timely delivery of all projects.
Also speaking, the Director of Highways, Construction and Rehabilitation, Clement Ogbuagu, said all four projects would be executed using Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement technology in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to durable and cost-effective infrastructure.
The ceremony marks another milestone in the Federal Government’s efforts to modernise Nigeria’s road network and accelerate national economic development.
