The Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders Forum (NNYLF) has announced plans to purchase the presidential nomination form for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the next general election, signaling a strong and coordinated show of support for his second-term ambition.
National Leader of the Forum,Gamji Murtala made this during an interview in Abuja following a high-level youth leadership engagement convened by the Forum on Monday in Abuja.
He said the decision was unanimously endorsed by northern youth leaders, with the backing of the Forum’s Board of Trustees (BoTs), grand patrons, and key political stakeholders from across the region.
According to Murtala, the Forum has resolved to raise ₦200 million for the purchase of President Tinubu’s nomination form, with the funds to be held in trust under the custody of the BoTs and other senior leaders of the Forum.
“This is a collective decision of the entire Northern Nigeria youth leadership, supported by our BoTs, our grand patrons, and stakeholders across the region. When the time comes for the sale of forms, we will come out boldly to purchase the form for Mr. President for his second term,” he said
The Forum also formally endorsed the President for a second term in office, citing the need for policy continuity, reform consolidation, and sustainable national development.
The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the engagement which brought together youth leaders, professionals, grassroots mobilizers, and political stakeholders from across Northern Nigeria.
According to the communiqué jointly signed by Gamji Murtala and the Director of Operations, Dr Agbana John, the engagement was convened to review Nigeria’s development trajectory under the Renewed Hope Agenda, deepen youth participation in governance, and unveil the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative as a structured platform for youth engagement.
The Forum observed that Nigerian youths remain central to national stability, democratic consolidation, and sustainable development, while noting a growing demand for structured youth inclusion in governance, policy formulation, and development implementation.
It further emphasized the role of youth-led platforms in political education, grassroots mobilization, peacebuilding, and national integration.
Rising from the deliberations, NNYLF unanimously resolved to endorse President Tinubu for a second term, stressing that continuity would enhance long-term planning and reform outcomes.
The Forum, under the slogan: “Build the Youth, Build the Nation.” also committed to coordinated, peaceful, and issue-based youth mobilization across Northern Nigeria in support of democratic participation, national unity, and responsible civic engagement.
As part of its resolutions, the Forum announced the institutionalization of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Platform as a strategic network for policy advocacy, grassroots enlightenment, leadership development, and community engagement.
It also pledged to strengthen partnerships with government institutions, development partners, traditional and community leaders, and the private sector to advance youth-focused initiatives in leadership, entrepreneurship, civic education, and social stability.
The communiqué further reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to peace, responsible political conduct, and the rejection of violence, misinformation, and divisive narratives.
In a call to action, NNYLF urged Nigerian youths to embrace constructive participation in nation-building and community leadership, while calling on public institutions to deepen youth-inclusive governance frameworks. It also appealed to development partners and stakeholders to collaborate with credible youth-led platforms to scale impact-driven programmes across Northern Nigeria.
The Forum concluded by reaffirming its dedication to building a disciplined, informed, and development-driven youth movement committed to democratic continuity, national cohesion, and sustainable progress.
